Development Nous undertook planning, landscape concept design, topographical survey and preliminary site investigations (soil testing) to submit a land use consent for the Three Wise Birds Cidery and Tasting Room on Pakowhai Road, Hastings. 

The Cidery and Garden Bar were proposed to be constructed amongst a working orchard and to share driveway and car parking facilities with the existing Serendipity cafe. 

The concept landscape design plays with the existing orchard; spaces have been designed by de-constructing the surrounding orchard creating “orchard rooms” that are relaxed and have an intimate back yard aesthetic. These room’s are surrounded by a large unprogrammed open lawn. The design plays on a laid back Hawkes Bay vibe and the thought of enjoying a cider in the afternoon sun in your back yard.

The development application was consented in February 2018.
