Development Nous was engaged by Kainga Ora Homes and Communities to work with a multidisciplinary consultant team including Barker Associates Planning, GHD, and Context Architects to complete a resource consent application to Hastings District Council for a 46 lot comprehensive subdivision on a 1.4ha site in the suburb or Raureka Hastings. The development is a part of the Kainga Ora Regional Housing Programme that aims to make the most efficient use of our land to build new warm and dry homes, to meet the demand for more social housing across New Zealand.
DNL worked closely with the consultant team to deliver well considered urban design outcomes for the community, providing dwellings with a good public private interface including an inviting and connective street scape environment with the overall project responds to the existing neighbouring properties. The development involved the clearing existing dwellings, subdivision of the new properties and construction of 46 dwellings, and associate road extension and private access-ways and landscaping.
Resource consent was granted by HDC in early 2019. Construction was completed in September 2021.
